How to request deletion of your Casper's Cloak account and the data associated with it.

Delete your Casper's Cloak account

You can delete your Casper's Cloak account and all data associated with it at any time. There are three ways to do it. You don't need to be signed in to use the email path below — that's the path designed for people who no longer have access to the app.


Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (Recommended once available)

In a future app release (iOS 1.4 / Android 1.1), you'll be able to delete your account directly from the app:

Settings → Account → Delete Account

You'll be asked to confirm. Once you confirm, your account is queued for deletion and you are signed out.

If your version of the app doesn't yet have this option, use Option 2 or Option 3 below.


Option 2 — Delete from the web

  1. Sign in at casperscloak.com.
  2. Open your profile.
  3. Choose Delete Account and confirm.

Once you confirm, your account is queued for deletion and you are signed out.


Option 3 — Delete by email (no sign-in required)

If you don't have access to the app or website — for example, you've already uninstalled the app or lost access to your device — email us:

We will reply within one business day to confirm we received the request. To prevent third-party deletion attempts, we'll send a confirmation link to the email address on the account; clicking it confirms the deletion. If we cannot reach you at the email on the account, we cannot process the deletion.


What happens when you delete

When your account is deleted, we delete all of the following within 30 days:

  • Your email address
  • Your account record
  • The device identifier we generated for you
  • Your push notification token (Apple / Firebase)
  • Your subscription tier and billing status (we keep the underlying transaction records — see below)
  • Any support correspondence under that account
  • Aggregate operational telemetry that contained your device identifier (in practice this is purged within 24–72 hours by routine cycle)

You will no longer be able to sign in. The VPN service will stop accepting your device.

What we keep, and why

A small set of records survives account deletion because the law requires it:

  • Financial transaction records for purchases made through casperscloak.com (Stripe). US tax law requires us to retain these for 7 years. The records identify the purchase as a transaction; they do not retain your activity inside the Service.
  • For Apple App Store and Google Play purchases, the transaction records live with Apple and Google. We don't have copies to retain.
  • Web-server access logs (transient, technical) that contained your originating IP at the moment you visited casperscloak.com — these are rotated and deleted on the standard schedule (within 30 days), regardless of whether you've deleted your account.

Everything else is removed. Once a record has been deleted, it cannot be restored.


After deletion

  • You can sign up again with the same email address. The new account starts fresh — none of the previous account's data is restored.
  • Your subscription does not automatically cancel on Apple or Google. Deleting your Casper's Cloak account ends your access to Casper's Cloak, but Apple/Google will continue to charge you for the subscription until you cancel it on their side. See the cancellation steps on our Support page.
  • Email us at support@casperscloak.com if you change your mind during the 30-day deletion window — if your data hasn't been purged yet, we may be able to restore the account. Once purged, restoration is not possible.
