If your banking app stops working when a VPN is on, you’re not alone. Many banks are cautious about connections that look unusual, and a VPN can sometimes trigger that.

If your banking app doesn’t work with a VPN, a practical first step is to follow your bank’s guidance and your security app’s in-app advice. 1. Start with your bank’s official guidance

Before changing anything, check your bank’s help center or support documentation:

• Some banks explain whether they support VPN connections.
• Others may ask you to avoid VPNs or certain privacy tools when using their app.

Whenever there’s a conflict between a security tool and your bank’s instructions, treat the bank’s guidance as the baseline for keeping access to your money.

2. Check your VPN or privacy app’s banking guidance

Different apps handle banking traffic differently. In Casper’s Cloak:

• Sensitive Site Detection watches for categories like banking, healthcare, government, and cryptocurrency inside the encrypted tunnel.
